I see that they are having it again next June. I hope that it is a better run event than the one this year.

I'm sure it's going to be great. Does anyone know what a Scout has to do to qualify for this?

Last year it was finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a District or Council Race. Still no Rules available.

The Rules have been posted. Not much improvement over that year's Rules IMO. The Pro Stock Rules seem okay. The way I interpret the Stock Car Rules is they are restrictive, but that is not real clear as you could interpret them as being more open. The inspection last year was just weight, wheelbase, and external dimensions. They did not look at the wheels at all for modifications or wheel contact. If my Son qualifies, we will run the Pro Stock Class this year as they are closest to our Council Rules.

Very confusing, I think they have intent that Stock Car is a graphite version of our Box Stock rules, and Pro Stock is more like Mid America Graphite rules, but the way the wrote it is confusing and has lots of areas that need improvement and clarification....

I'm gathering the Stock Car class is a four wheel touching class. I'm hoping it is and I'm hoping it's checked.

Is removing the outer step in the wheel not allowed since it is only listed as permitted in Pro Stock?

Those rules are craptastic, at least in the pro division you know what they are inspecting for, in the stock division there are no rules....

Last year it was 4 wheels touching, no canting, use the axle slots, and stock wheels. They only checked the wheelbase. They did not look for canting, 4 wheels touching, axles slots used, or wheel mods. We ended up racing against cars that were definitely canted and on three wheels. If we go back this year, we are considering the Pro Stock Class as the rules seem much better regardless of their inspection process. Their are no wheel mods allowed for the Stock Car Class.

From what I was told last year, if it is allowed in the Pro Stock Class it is not allowed in the Stock Car Class. If it is not defined for either class then it is legal such as fenders. I am not sure about bushings, but according to the way I was told they should be as it does not say you can't.

The way that it worked out in actuality last year was the only difference between the 2 Classes was wheelbase 4-3/8" for Stock versus any for Pro.

I don't like the way they run the fastest 15. Lane selection will have an unfair benefit. Each car should run each lane. One bad run the fastest car could be done.

It was the three fastest from each Rank not the fastest 15. There were 3 Bears did not make the cut to advance to the Championship Round. I prefer your way of running the race also.

The way the rules are presented is definitely confusing. I see you can drill holes for axle in the Pro Stock class, but that doesn't mean you can't for the Stock Car class?

It does not say that you can not fill the axle slot and drill a hole in the exact same location. Not sure on canting.

There was no proxy racing last year and only one entry per Scout was allowed.

Not my good ones! The reason I ask is, why are they calling this the world championships? Do they have a few scouts from Canada or something? If you can't ship your cars from all over the world this might just be a marketing gimmick to make the local scouts feel like king of the "World"

Isn't Time Square referred to as the Crossroads of the World?
