Sorry to bump an old thread but...I'd like to thank DD4H and everyone on the forum for their advice and info. My son and I built a rail rider ladder car this year and he easily won his den and pack grand championship. We used DD4H black ice wheel polish and graphite. It was the fastest car I've ever seen! He averaged 2.888 second for 6 runs on a 42' aluminum Besttrack. He can't wait for districts. Thanks guys!

One question I have is after 6 runs do I need to pull the wheels off and reapply the pledge, or just put more graphite in. Districts is 3 or 4 runs

I would just add more graphite and clean the wheel treads

Great job! Your results are a reflection of your hard work and ability. I am sure your son had a blast.

Quick question on the Axle prep. After sanding the axles from 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 then using the next level polish. Do you then prep with pledge or was Next Level the finial step? For a Graphite Car....

I believe Pledge is the last step...but I used a different axle polish
